Pioneer Day was a big success! There are many people we have to thank for the occasion running so smoothly! A very big thank you to Tom and Sue Hunton for helping coordinate the event and letting us set up on their property. A warm thank you to all our business sponsors including: Ink Well, Off the Waffle, and Camas Country Mill. All the volunteers who supported and came out to the event, thank you for all your hard work, we couldn’t have done it without you! And of course, thank you to all the community members who came out to have some pioneer fun!

We made so many new connections in the community and we were able to meet some amazing people. We know the kids loved being able to experience some pioneer history. Here are a couple of quotes from young Elliott Kimball:

“My favorite part was the tannery because you get to see all the skins and skulls and you get to touch them!”

“I also like the beadmaking. I made two necklaces out of soapstone. The soapstone is really pretty and every piece looks different.”

We still have 4 spots left in our July summer camp! So please contact Karen Rainsong for more information.
