Waterloo County Park Native Encampment

July 19 @ 10:00 am - July 21 @ 6:00 pm

native american cultural camp

Join us at the Native American Cultural Encampment in July at Waterloo County Park in Lebanon, Oregon, presented by the Native American Cultural Encampments with Deitrich Peters and friends. Learn how to put up a tipi, try making your own plant cordage, make a leather pouch, buy some Native made items, buy a raffle ticket, enjoy a free meal on Sunday afternoon, and see some amazing pow-wow style dancing! Deitz will explain about elements of the regalia worn by the dancers and what they symbolize (cultural and personal significance). This is a great way to get to know Native people and culture in a relaxed, informal and friendly way.

SCEC will have educational opportunities for children and families from 10 – 6 on Saturday and Sunday. Try the atlatl (spear throwing tool) in the field and do some free crafts. We look forward to sharing indigenous culture with you.

The public are welcome to attend each day, 10am – 6pm.

Address: 39510 Gross St, Lebanon, OR 97355

This is an alcohol and drug-free event. Children are welcome. Please keep pets leashed and under your control at all times.
