Crossroads of Cultures: the Applegates and the Kalapuyans

Join us for a History Pub at the Axe and Fiddle Restaurant in Cottage Grove on Tuesday April 8th.

The speaker is Karen Rainsong, the Executive Director of Singing Creek Educational Center. She will be talking about the Applegate family of Yoncalla, Oregon and their relationship with the Kalapuya people of the area. Chief Halo of the Kalapuya tribe and Jesse Applegate were friends and the friendship continues to this day between descendants.
