Homestead Arts: Fruit Tree Grafting

Learn how to graft new varieties of fruit onto existing trees or new rootstock for custom fruit trees. We’ll have scion (fruit tree cuttings suitable for grafting) from several rare and interesting varieties of apple, pear, and Asian pear to choose from and semi-dwarf rootstock. $5 material fee includes one grafted fruit tree to take home. More available at $4 each. Take home extra scion to graft for $1/stick (includes grafting tape and metal label).

Kevin Prier lives in Eugene and is the father of two homeschooled children. He teaches urban homesteading classes for adults through community centers in Eugene and Springfield, with workshops on gardening and foraging; fermenting sauerkraut, kimchi, and other vegetables; cheese and sausage making; soap making; and more.
