DESCRIPTION:Pioneer Scribe – Early Settlers Letter Writing \nLearn about early letter writing in Oregon history\, including getting your very own handwritten letter from a child on the Oregon Trail! (These were written by SCEC\, some based on true accounts.) We will read our letters to each other\, discuss them\, and write a short adventure story about the child in the letter. Then you can dress up in our pioneer costumes and give yourself a new pioneer name. Create and write a poem about your pioneer girl persona and complete it with a drawing. It’s fun to learn about history while earning your Scribe badge!
