SUMMARY:Historic Homes Tour & Reception
DESCRIPTION:Join the Lane County History Museum and Singing Creek Educational Center on their Historic Homes Tour and Reception for a fun evening of history and good company.\nTour begins at the Mim’s House\, 330 High Street\, Eugene.\nStart with a walking tour of the historic East Skinner Butte Neighborhood\, led by Bob Hart and Faith Kresky of the Lane County History Museum. Learn about the area and specifics about the surviving historic homes of this area. Afterwards join us for a gathering at the Pironi House for a wine and cheese reception\, socializing\, and updates on what each organization is doing to promote our exciting local history. The reception will be held at the historic home of Sherrill Necessary and Doug Partridge. Hear all about the amazing “built-in” features of this craftsman home. \n \nSpots are limited; pre-registration is required. Ticket prices are $20 per person or $35 for a couple. Proceeds benefit the Lane County History Museum and Singing Creek Educational Center.  \nCall the museum at 541-682-4242 to register.

DESCRIPTION:Go back in time and live like an Oregon settler in 1850 at our pioneer education center. The family farm includes a pond\, chickens\, garden\, one-room schoolhouse\, and a pioneer “homestead”. We can provide pioneer clothing like bonnets and aprons or you can wear your own. Complete with fun activities\, authentic “chores” and crafts. SUMMARY:Halloween at the Homestead
DESCRIPTION:[cmsms_row data_padding_bottom=”30″ data_padding_top=”0″ data_color=”default” data_width=”boxed”][cmsms_column data_width=”1/1″][cmsms_text animation_delay=”0″] \nJoin us for a wonderful Old Fashioned Halloween party! \nCome celebrate Halloween this year at Singing Creek Educational Center on Friday October 27th at 3:30pm!\nSpecially designed for children ages 5-12 years\, this event features vintage crafts\, games with prizes\, and a special shadow puppet play!  We will have baked goodies and hot drinks on hand for purchase. All proceeds benefit the SCEC. The cost is $10 per child\, and adults are free. Pre-registration and payment is required.\nWhat are vintage crafts? We’re glad you asked. In keeping with our pioneer historical theme\, these crafts are made with natural supplies and there is minimal plastic or “modern” ingredients used. We make witches brooms with raffia\, paper lanterns painted by your child\, lavender ghosts with white fabric\, play the “apple snap” game and more.
