DESCRIPTION:BIRDING AT THE FARM – Saturday April 2\, 2016\nCost: $6 per person\, or $18 for a family.\nTime: 12:30pm to 2:00pm\nTaught by: Kathy Lamberg\, birding enthusiast\nPre-registration required; limited to 18 participants\nPlace: Singing Creek Educational Center\, 92194 Purkerson Rd. Junction City\, OR\, GRANARY building\nPhone: 541 968-1986\nLearn all about the wonderful birds we have out at Singing Creek and view them with binoculars and a spotting scope. Look for bird tracks and signs and take photos. For ages 11 + and adults\, this class will start indoors at the granary as we hear all about what the birds are doing this time of year\, look at some nests\, feathers and eggs\, and hear some bird calls. Then we head out to the fields and pond to catch sight of some great birds like great blue heron\, snowy egret\, bald eagles\, kingfishers\, ducks and geese\, and more! Then we head back to the granary to make your own egg-shaped rattle to take home or build your own bird house. A great time for older kids and adults. Cost: $6 per person\, or $18 for a family. SUMMARY:Spring Break Camp: Animal Stories and Puppeteering
DESCRIPTION:CANCELLED DUE TO LACK OF SIGNUPS…COME SEE US AT SUMMER CAMP INSTEAD \nJoin us for Spring Break March 21st – 25th and learn all about some of our local animals in the Pacific Northwest. Hear stories\, make puppets\, do arts and crafts\, play games and get outside in nature! Each day is a different adventure. We have a shadow puppet theatre stage where you can try your hand at creating a play with your friends. Our focus will be on Native American stories and we may also make masks to take home. Our home base is our pioneer homestead where we have historical programs. You may sign up for any day or the whole week. Kids bring a sack lunch and drink and parents must pick up at 2:00pm or late fees may apply. You must pre-register and sign a liability release form which can be found on our website. \nIf you have any special needs for your child we ask you to let us know in advance. Carpools are often arranged by the participants. Also\, if you have an older child (ages 11 and up) who has attended our camp before and would like to attend as a junior counselor\, talk to us for information. SUMMARY:Halloween at the Homestead
DESCRIPTION:Family oriented (not too scary) fun for kids ages five to nine. This magical\, exclusive event includes making arts and crafts\, games and prizes\, shadow puppet theater\, bake sale and hot apple cider. Prizes include gift certificates to the popular Dancing Weasel Toy Store in Eugene. Crafts include: make a lavender ghost\, decorate a pumpkin\, create your own shadow puppets\, and decorate a paper lantern. Game is the classic “Apple Snap.” \nCost is $8 per child. Held in the granary building at Singing Creek Educational Center (at the family farm of the Huntons) at 91949 Purkerson Rd. Junction City\, Oregon. Parking on-site and parent/designated adult will stay with children. You will need to sign a liability release form and pay at the door when you arrive. \nWear clothes you can get dirty in (or dress up in a halloween costume but please leave scary/gory stuff at home.)
