SUMMARY:Letters From the Trail at Riddle Library
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Riddle Library Thursday July 20th at 1pm! \nLetters From the Trail is a unique program where a costumed interpreter (Mrs. Annabelle Smith from the Oregon Trail) will give a talk and  hand out letters to each child in attendance. These fictional letters were written by boys and girls on the Oregon Trail from 1850 – 1860 detailing their challenges\, hopes and dreams for a better future in Oregon. The letters come with a question and answer sheet for each child to fill out at home about their letter\, helping them use critical thinking skills.  \nCost is free. Join us for a lovely time!

DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Native American Cultural Encampment at Waterloo County Park\, July 29th & 30th! \nKaren Rainsong will be camping with the Indigenous people that weekend and presenting the Kalapuya Ways educational experience. Items of material culture will be on display\, and you can make a paper wolk mask\, and learn to throw the atlatl. \nThe public can come visit for free during the day on Saturday and Sunday.
